Is Crater Lake a hard hike?
If you’re looking for a moderate to difficult hike with some amazing views, this is the one for you. You’ll get to see Crater Lake, Wizard Island, and the Phantom Ship, and the Rogue Valley and Cascade peaks will be right in front of you. It’s a bit of a climb, but it’s definitely worth it.
The views from the lodge and around the lake are breathtaking and worth the visit alone. The trails on both sides of the lodge make it easy to explore the lake and see it from different perspectives. We paid extra for a lakeview room and felt like it was 100% worth the cost.
Should you swim in Crater Lake
Crater Lake is a great place to swim, but be aware that the water is usually very cold! The water is a deep, gorgeous blue, so it’s definitely worth a dip if you’re feeling up for it. Just be sure to swim only in designated areas to stay safe.
