Can I drive through Mt. Shasta?
The Everitt Memorial Highway is a scenic route that ascends the south side of Mt Shasta. The road starts in the business district of Mt Shasta City and climbs a hill before changing names to Everitt Memorial Highway. The highway is also signed as county road A-10. The road terminates at timberline near 8,000 feet, offering stunning views of the mountain.
There is no water available on the trail to the top of Mount Shasta. You will need to melt snow for water if camping overnight.
What is the best month to visit Crater Lake Oregon?
The most popular months to visit Crater Lake are July, August, and September. That’s when the park’s roads, trails, and facilities are usually fully open. May and June are months of transition in the park, as winter slowly gives way to summer.

Private vehicles are allowed in the park for a fee of $30 in the summer and $20 in the winter. This fee admits one private, non-commercial vehicle (15-passenger capacity or less) and all occupants. The pass is good for 7 days. Motorcycles are also allowed in the park for a fee of $25 in the summer and $15 in the winter.

How do you dress for Crater Lake?
Crater Lake is an amazing place to visit, especially in the summertime. Even though it is high up in elevation, the lake is still relatively cool due to its location. However, temperatures can drop significantly in the evening, so be sure to bring along some warm clothes to wear. You won’t regret it!
Mount Shasta is a beautiful mountain to visit and the best time to visit is during the summer months. June and July offer the best conditions for climbing the Avalanche Gulch and the West Face. The North side Hotlum and Bolam Glaciers’ climbs are perfect during August and September.
Can you do Mount Shasta in a day
This push to summit Mount Shasta is no small feat – 7,000 vertical feet is a lot of ground to cover in a short period of time. Be sure to take breaks along the way, but try to keep them under 15 minutes so you can make it to the top and back to the trailhead without having to camp overnight. A longer break on the summit is warranted, of course!
