Is the Crater Lake trolley worth it
Richard did an excellent job driving and Joel from Nebraska was an excellent ranger! The several stops were beautiful and it was great to learn about the history of certain areas that we otherwise would not have known about (buoys on the lake, grandmother tree, etc).

Why is Crater Rim Drive closed?
The Mauna Loa Trail and backcountry are closed from the top of Mauna Loa Road due to hazards from the recent eruption. The summit and both cabins are also closed. Please avoid these areas until the hazards have been cleared.
