The Trolley really is the best way to see Crater Lake. You can take in so much more of the scenery when you’re not driving. The caldera rim is especially beautiful, and I’m so glad we booked tickets on the Trolley.<\/p>\n

A private vehicle permit for Yellowstone National Park costs $30 in the summer and $20 in the winter. My wife and I recently returned from a 10-day trip to Oregon and our visit to the top of Wizard Island was not only the highlight for that trip, but was one of the best hikes we have ever had the opportunity to do.<\/p>\n

However, advance planning is required. The hike is 7 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 1,800 feet, so it’s definitely not a quick jaunt! We started early in the morning and packed plenty of snacks and water. The views from the top were stunning, and the sense of accomplishment we felt after reaching the summit was incredible.<\/p>\n
