Mt Pinatubo is an active volcano located in the Philippines. The crater lake is located at the summit of the volcano and is the highest lake in the country.<\/p>\n

Mt. Pinatubo Crater Lake is accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles and motorcycles with a guide. The city of Capas is the jump-off point to the crater. From there, it is a 45-minute drive to the registration area. After registering, it is another 45-minute drive to the crater.<\/p>\n

How do you get to Pinatubo lake? <\/h2>\n

If you’re planning on going to Capas, Tarlac, the best way to get there is by taking a bus from any major bus terminal in Manila, Cubao, or Pasay. It just depends on which is closest to where you are staying. You also have the option to ride buses with routes going to Baguio, Ilocos, or Pangasinan and tell the conductor you’re getting off at Sta.<\/p>\n

Mt Pinatubo is considered the largest eruption of the 20th century. The hike to the top is approximately 55km (2 hours walk) each way, with a total ascent of 300 metres. The hike is guided by a guide and is considered to be very strenuous. Once at the top, you are rewarded with spectacular lava sand formations.<\/p>\n
