Loch Ness is a large, deep, freshwater loch in the Scottish Highlands extending for approximately 23 miles (37 km) southwest of Inverness. Its surface is approximately 590 feet (180 m) above sea level and its maximum depth is 755 feet (230 m). Loch Ness is best known for its alleged monster, Nessie.<\/p>\n
