Gull Lake is located in southwestern Michigan, in the United States. It is about 30 miles (48 km) east of Lake Michigan. The lake is about 2 miles (3.2 km) long and 1 mile (1.6 km) wide. The name was probably derived from the seagulls which at times come inland from Lake Michigan in large numbers. The total surface area of this lake is 2,030 acres (8 km2), with maximum depths of 110 feet (34 m).<\/p>\n

The drainage area of the lake is relatively small (17,000 acres) compared to the size of the lake (2,030 acres). The watershed is in the Kalamazoo River basin, which drains into Lake Michigan. The outlet (Gull Lake outlet or Gull Creek) is at the south end of the lake.<\/p>\n
