Situated in southern Oregon, Crater Lake National Park is home to the deepest lake in the U.S. Crater Lake is also one of the most precipitous lakes in the world, formed from the remnants of a collapsed volcano. With average depths of 1,148 feet (350 m), its depths exceed those of all other North American lakes. The lake is famed for its intense blue color and water clarity.<\/p>\n
