Crater Lake, Oregon is the deepest lake in the United States and is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Formed 7,700 years ago by the collapse of the volcano, Mount Mazama, Crater Lake is a freshwater lake with no outlet. The only way water leaves the lake is through evaporation or by seeping into the volcanic rock. Although there are no current signs that the lake will erupt again, scientists cannot say with certainty that it will not happen in the future.<\/p>\n
