If you’re planning on hiking in the park, be aware that some trails may be inaccessible due to deep snow. May and June are typically when the snow is at its deepest, so use caution and be prepared for difficult or dangerous conditions.<\/p>\n

Crater Lake is best experienced by car. The Rim Drive, the highest paved road in Oregon, takes you around the lake in an hour. viewpoints along the way provide stunning views of the lake. The full loop is usually open from late June to mid-October, depending on snowmelt.<\/p>\n
